Eclipse Partners’ Volunteer Participation Featured in Mongolian Coverage of Democracy Exhibition

Eclipse Partners’ volunteer work at “Mongolia: The Story of a Democratic Oasis: An Exhibition” was included in Mongolian National Broadcaster’s (MNB’s) and Montsame’s respective coverage of the exhibition. Our firm is grateful to have participated in this meaningful event and to have contributed to sharing Mongolia’s democratic story with a wider audience.

Organized by New Neighbor Initiative (NNI), the exhibition opened on October 5, 2026, at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C. It showcased the work of noted Mongolian photojournalist Tsatsralt Sereeter and political cartoonist Tsogtbayar Samandar, whose photography and political satire illuminate Mongolia’s transition to democracy and the continuing importance of free expression.

Both artists were active during Mongolia’s transition from communism to democracy. Their work preserves the experiences of people who demanded change while reminding audiences of the courage required to document history, question authority, and exercise freedom of speech in the face of repression. Their contributions continue to encourage reflection on the responsibilities that accompany democratic freedom.

NNI’s advocacy gives this history an essential public platform. By bringing artists, communities, and audiences together across borders, the organization helps sustain dialogue about democracy, civic participation, and the protection of liberty. The exhibition offered an opportunity to reflect on what Mongolia’s experience can teach all of us about preserving these values.

The news coverage extended that opportunity beyond the exhibition itself. Journalism plays a vital role in making cultural and civic events accessible to people who cannot attend, preserving a public record, and encouraging informed discussion. We appreciate Mongolian National Broadcaster and Montsame for bringing attention to the exhibition and including our participation in their reporting.

For Eclipse Partners, volunteering reflected the principles that guide our immigration practice: respect for individual dignity, access to justice, and the protection of rights through the rule of law. Artists, civic organizations, journalists, and attorneys contribute in different but connected ways to the institutions and public awareness that democratic societies need. We are grateful to play our part alongside people whose dedication to these principles is evident in their work.

We extend our sincere thanks to Tsatsralt Sereeter and Tsogtbayar Samandar, Urga Azat, NNI’s founder and president, and Sainkuu Enkh-Otgon, a key NNI contributor, for welcoming us as volunteers. Their generosity and assistance also helped make possible the dinner our firm hosted in the artists’ honor at the close of the exhibition’s first day.

Participating was a privilege. We remain committed to supporting the people and organizations whose work helps freedom, dignity, and democratic values endure across borders.
